Objective: 

  • To create an office that is cozy, fosters an open and collaborative work environment among employees, provides sufficient quiet areas for private conversations, and includes multifunctional spaces.
  • We want all our employees to look forward to coming to the office every day and to have a comfortable work environment, as we spend 8–10 hours a day in the office.
  • To reduce the use of bottled water.
  • To ensure a clean air environment in the office.
  • To reduce energy consumption.

Challenges:

  • To create different zones and finishes that can be showcased to potential clients as design inspirations while ensuring that the finishes complement one another and do not seem out of place. We are also required to create these spaces within budget so that they can be incorporated into our future designs if the client likes them.
  • To reuse as many items as possible from our existing office to reduce waste.

Solutions:

  • Held open dialogue with employees to gather their requirements for the new office, conducted design workshops, and incorporated design recommendations and suggestions from our suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Installed a Quooker filter tap system for cold, sparking, hot and regular filtered water, eliminating the need for a water dispenser.
  • Installed Ultrapure duct-mounted air purification units to improve air quality by preventing cross-contamination, reducing bio-burden, and eliminating particulate matter.
  • Installed a Siemens daylight and motion sensor lighting control system.
  • Added a Hush Office phone booth for private conversations.
  • Introduced foldable tables and stackable chairs to create a multifunctional space for lunch and learn sessions, town hall presentations, and dining as needed.
  • Designed the Executive Director’s cabin to function as both a private office and a meeting space for 4–6 people as required.
